On July 22, Forbes China released its annual CEO list, and Wang Ning, the founder and CEO of Pop Mart, was selected for the first time and appeared on the cover of Forbes China. This year has the highest number of "80s" CEOs, reaching a record six, and Wang Ning, born in 1987, became the youngest self-made founder in the history of the list. The list also includes Fang Hongbo of Midea Group, Wang Chuanfu of BYD Company Limited, Lei Jun of Xiaomi, and Ding Lei of Netease.
The "2024 China's Best CEO" list conducted an in-depth study of thousands of CEOs, including A-shares, Hong Kong-listed Chinese companies and overseas-listed Chinese concept stocks. Referring to basic financial indicators such as market value, range of stock price changes, net income and growth rate, ROE, and shareholder return indicators of listed companies, the top 50 CEOs of listed companies with comprehensive scores were selected.
"This is not a great entrepreneurship story, but rather Wang Ning and Pop Mart's 13-year adventure of 'one win and nine losses' in the indeterminate retail battlefield. They not only won market recognition, but also maximized the boundaries of a niche industry." Forbes commented on Wang Ning.
