Kansai Paint Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Kita-ku, Osaka, President and CEO: Kunishi Mori, hereinafter referred to as "Kansai Paint") has been newly selected as a constituent stock of the "FTSE Blossom Japan Sector Relative Index."We would like to inform you of this.

About FTSE Blossom Japan Sector Relative Index: The FTSE Blossom Japan Sector Relative Index constructed by global index provider FTSE Russell is an index that reflects the performance of Japanese companies that excel in addressing environmental, social, and governance (ESG) concerns relative to each sector and is designed to be sector-neutral.For companies with high greenhouse gas emissions, especially those with high greenhouse gas emissions, only those companies that have been evaluated for their efforts to improve through the TPI Management Quality Score are included.In addition, this index is one of the ESG indices adopted by the Government Pension Investment Fund (GPIF), the world's largest institutional investor, and is widely used to create and evaluate sustainable investment funds and other financial products.

Regarding Kansai Paint Group's sustainability and ESG initiatives: The Kansai Paint Group has positioned the 17th medium-term management plan, which started in April 2022, as a transitional period for sustainable growth and is promoting initiatives focused on sustainable management in all ESG areas. In addition, we have set four important challenges (materiality), including achieving decarbonization, and aim to be a corporate group that can contribute to the earth and society in the medium to long term and sustainably grow.

FTSE Blossom Japan Sector Relative Index: The FTSE Blossom Japan Sector Relative Index is constructed by global index provider FTSE Russell to reflect the performance of Japanese companies that excel in addressing environmental, social, and governance (ESG) concerns relative to each sector and is designed to be sector-neutral.To promote the transition to a low-carbon economy, only the companies that have been evaluated for their efforts to improve greenhouse gas emissions, especially companies that emit a lot of greenhouse gases, are included in the index.TPI (Transition Pathway Initiative) management quality scores are used to evaluate these companies.
