Japan Airlines ·  Jul 24 11:00

Japan Airlines Corporation (Head Office: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo, Representative Director and Group CEO: Mitsuko Tottori, hereinafter referred to as "JAL") and KDDI Corporation (Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, Representative Director and CEO: Makoto Takahashi, hereinafter referred to as "KDDI") have been working on creating experiential value through digital technology such as XR experiences (※1) in airport lounges / on-board, etc. and now we have launched the "Digital x Oshi-activitiy" project (hereinafter referred to as "This project") targeting new mobility demand and creation of population.

■ Overview
In recent years, it has been said that one in three Japanese citizens are engaged in some kind of "oshi-activity" (※2), and oshi-activities have been widely established as activities to deepen the bond between people and their favorite subjects, and its market size is also expanding.
In this project, we will combine JAL's customer points of contact and connections with local communities with KDDI's generative AI and XR technology to create various points of contact and generate immersive experiences for "oshi-activities", and create new mobility demand.

■In the future
JAL and KDDI will accelerate the expansion of oshi-activity targets and experiential contents through this project, and aim to continue to support oshi-activity on an ongoing basis. In addition, we will consider creating a platform that can be used by various stakeholders such as local governments, businesses, and content holders by expanding digital experiences based on immersive experiences.
We will continue to create innovations that utilize the strengths of both companies and continue to create experiences for the next generation.

■Implementation details
First, we will hold two events: a popular anime pilgrimage and a regional puzzle-solving game targeting customers engaged in oshi-activities to create interaction and population.

1. Love Live! Series collaboration "Flying to Okinawa with Nijigasaki members!"
