As of 1:50 pm, the Nikkei Average is down by 1164 yen. In terms of the contribution to the Nikkei Average, SoftBank Group (9984), Toko Electric (8035), Advantest (6857) and others are ranked as negative contributors, while Nitori Holdings (9843), Bandai Namco Holdings (7832), Olympus (7733) and others are ranked as positive contributors. In terms of sectors, electric appliances, insurance, securities, commodities futures, machinery and services are top decliners, while fisheries and agriculture, pulp and paper, air transportation, land transportation and foods are top gainers.

The Nikkei Average is trading in the low range. The strengthening yen and weakening dollar are holding back buyers in the Tokyo stock market. On the other hand, the Nikkei Average has fallen for six consecutive days, dropping over 2,100 yen from yesterday. Some experts suggest that the downside may attract buyers due to overselling. It seems that the Dow Jones Average Futures trading steadily in after-hours trading is also supporting the Tokyo stock market.
