George Kurtz, CEO of cybersecurity company CrowdStrike (CRWD.US), stated on Thursday that over 97% of Windows sensors were brought back online.
According to the app of Cnstock, CEO of cybersecurity company CrowdStrike (CRWD.US), George Kurtz, said on Thursday that more than 97% of Windows sensors were relaunched. A software update by the cybersecurity company caused a global outage almost a week ago.
The Falcon platform sensor of the company is a security agent installed on devices such as laptops and desktops, which can protect devices from threats. The reason for the outage is a fault in this advanced platform, which caused computers running Microsoft Windows operating system to crash and display a blue screen of death.
Microsoft (MSFT.US) stated on Saturday that about 8.5 million Windows devices were affected, which led to flight cancellations, broadcasting companies being forced to shut down, and users unable to access medical or banking services. Kurtz said in a LinkedIn post: "Our recovery efforts have been strengthened based on the development of automated recovery technology and mobilization of all resources to support customers."
