On the news front, Hong Kong Telecommunications-SS announced earlier that it plans to use the proceeds from the sale of 40% equity in passive network business to repay the debt of 0.87 billion USD, which helps to reduce the company's interest expenses and improve the dividend prospects. The company's mid-term performance showed that its operating income was 16.669 billion yuan, a YoY increase of 1.6%; its net profit was 1.99 billion yuan, a YoY increase of 1.9%; and its earnings per share were 26.27 cents. The interim dividend per share was 32.92 cents, equivalent to one order, an increase of 2.7% YoY. This is in line with the bank's annual forecast, and the predicted dividend yield for the current unit price is 8.6% according to UBS.

JPMorgan reiterates its bullish outlook on Hong Kong Telecommunications due to its attractive 9% dividend yield and improved DPS prospects, and points out that Hong Kong Telecommunications is its preferred stock in the Hong Kong Telecommunications sector. UBS also noted that Hong Kong Telecommunications' interim dividend per share of 32.92 cents, equivalent to one order, increased by 2.7% YoY, in line with the bank's annual forecast, and predicts a dividend yield of 8.6% for the current unit price.
