SBI Asset Management Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "SBI Asset") will begin offering the "SBI-Man Liquid Trend Fund (hereinafter referred to as "the Fund"), which will be established on August 16, 2024 (Friday), starting today, August 1 (Thursday) through SBI Securities Co., Ltd. (Head office: Minato-ku, Tokyo, President and CEO: Masato Takamura).
Prior to the product offering by SBI-Man Asset Management Co., Ltd., a joint venture between SBI Holdings, Inc., which announced it in July 2023 and Man Group plc (hereinafter referred to as "Man Group"), one of the world's leading alternative investment companies, SBI Asset Management Co., Ltd. will offer the Fund. This Fund will substantially invest in 26 futures, including stocks, bonds and interest rates, foreign exchange, commodities, etc., through Man AHL Trend Core Class A (JPY) (Unhedged), an Irish investment trust operated by Man AHL, including short selling. In addition, when offering the product, SBI Asset will receive information on alternative markets and related assets from SBI-Man Asset Management.
The investment target of this Fund, which uses the trend-following strategy with a long track record of Man AHL, aims to achieve profits regardless of market rises and falls, including major declines in the stock and bond markets.
Except for REITs, alternative strategy products in the Japanese public investment trust market are generally not widely available. Under the concept of "democratization of alternative investment," this Fund expects to contribute to the efficient management and asset formation of individual investors' investment portfolios as a low-cost (annual effective trustee fee of 0.998% (including tax)), full-scale alternative strategy fund that includes the operation management fee of the investment trust.
