1. Company Overview

Orby Systems (5576) is an independent IT company that develops system integration services such as software design/development/maintenance in a business area divided into four service lines: financial business, industrial distribution business, social public works, and IT innovation business, with the Hitachi, Ltd. Group, Mitsubishi Electric Software*1, etc. as main customers. Sales to the Hitachi, Ltd. Group, which has 48 years of trading history, are about 70%, and together with sales to the Mitsubishi Electric <6503> Group, which has a trading history of 35 years, approximately 80% of sales are for these 2 groups. Orders are continuously secured, centering on continuing projects, operation and maintenance projects, and new projects from the 2 groups, and the management base is stable. Also, one of our strengths is that costs spent on sales can be diverted to development investments. In addition, we are developing our own products “Clinical Test System/CLIP” ※2 and “Health Checkup System/MEX-plus” *3 to hospitals and the like nationwide.

Since Orbic <4684> is a major shareholder owning 27.88% of the company's total number of issued shares, the company is a company that applies Orbic's equity method, and this is due to circumstances since establishment, and although executives are dispatched, there are no transactions at all, and independence is ensured. Orbic manufactures system development in-house, and there is no direct competitive relationship with the company, which focuses on contract development from major SIers (system integrators).

2. HISTORY

The founder, Mr. Takashi Yamada (current adviser to the company), established the company in 1972 as a software development company for Orvic due to a relationship with Mr. Noda Yoshihiro (current Chairman and Representative Director of Orvic), the founder of Orvic established in 1968, and he was a junior at the company he had previously worked for (starting the current industrial distribution business). After that, in 1976, when Hitachi, Ltd. expanded into Kansai, they began trading as the Kansai No. 1 business partner, and worked on account system development for regional banks, and since then, the business relationship with the Hitachi, Ltd. Group has expanded.

From the establishment of a financial group in 1980 (starting the current financial business), social groups were launched in 1989 (current social public works began), and public groups were launched sequentially in 2001 (integrated into current social public works). Meanwhile, a techno center was established in Osaka in 1988/1, registered as an SIer of the Ministry of Trade and Industry (currently the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry) in 1991/2, the techno center was expanded in 1992/2 due to business expansion, and the head office was moved and integrated into the techno center. In 1999/3, in order to expand business in Tokyo and the Tokyo area, we established a two-head office system with the Osaka head office and Tokyo headquarters. We released our own product “Clinical Test System/CLIP” in April 2000. In 2005/2, we released the “New Health Checkup System/MEX-Plus,” which is also our product. CLIP has been repeatedly upgraded, and “CLIP-version 5” was released in 2021/8.

In terms of quality control such as information protection, we obtained the Privacy Mark*1 in 2007/1. ISO/IEC 27001:2013/JIS Q 27001:2014*2 certification was obtained in 2019/3. In November 2021, we obtained ISO 9001:2015*3 “Quality Management System” certification.

*1 Privacy Mark: A system that conforms to the Japanese industrial standard “JIS Q 15001 Personal Information Protection Management System - Requirements” and evaluates businesses, etc. that have established a system to take appropriate protective measures for personal information, assigns a privacy mark indicating this, and allows the use of the privacy mark in relation to business activities

*2 ISO/IEC 27001: This is an international standard in which the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) establishes security management requirements to reduce the security risk of assets relating to the activities of companies and organizations and prevent outbreaks, and certification is granted to companies, etc. that establish and implement highly reliable information system management systems.

*3 ISO 9001: An international standard established by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), and is a standard for companies, etc. to improve customer satisfaction and continuously improve quality management systems through quality assurance of products and services.


In 2022/4, the IT innovation business was separated and independent from the financial business in order to respond to social and corporate DX, and a business headquarters was established. It was listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange Standard Market in 2023/6. In 2024/4, H&T, which develops business/embedded software, became a subsidiary, and in April of the same year, it was released that MILIZE, which develops systems combining AI and financial engineering, will jointly develop implementation of functions that support system operation in the clinical testing field by utilizing AI in the CLIP series. Continuing, in May, we formed a sales and business alliance in the migration field with Korea Fastech (Korea), which develops and sells migration solution systems.
