We wouldn't blame Cohen & Steers, Inc. (NYSE:CNS) shareholders if they were a little worried about the fact that John Cheigh, the Executive VP & Chief Investment Officer recently netted about US$1.1m selling shares at an average price of US$84.08. However, it's crucial to note that they remain very much invested in the stock and that sale only reduced their holding by 7.4%.

The Last 12 Months Of Insider Transactions At Cohen & Steers

In fact, the recent sale by John Cheigh was the biggest sale of Cohen & Steers shares made by an insider individual in the last twelve months, according to our records. That means that an insider was selling shares at around the current price of US$84.28. While insider selling is a negative, to us, it is more negative if the shares are sold at a lower price. Given that the sale took place at around current prices, it makes us a little cautious but is hardly a major concern.
