In today's weather is good. Today's weather is good.
Since this year, Chery's momentum has been getting stronger and even entered the Fortune Global 500, ranking 385th.
On August 5, the latest Fortune Global 500 ranking was released. Among them, 10 Chinese auto companies were on the list, and Chery Auto was on the list for the first time. As soon as it appeared on the list, Chery was ranked 385th, much higher than BYD's first appearance on the list last year, when it was ranked 436th.
This achievement has also given Chery, which is preparing to go public, a stronger reliance. Among the 10 auto companies that entered the Fortune Global 500 list this time, Chery is the only one that is not yet listed.
This year's entry into the Fortune 500 list is thanks to Chery's surge in sales. In 2023, Chery Group achieved a "12 consecutive increase" in sales, with cumulative sales of 1.88 million vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 52.6%.
This year, Chery has maintained this growth trend and has delivered a stable growth performance for several consecutive months, which is particularly difficult in the fiercely competitive auto industry today.
In July, Chery's key sales indicators all achieved significant growth. Among them, Chery Group's total car sales were 1.958 million vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 30.1%; exports were 0.903 million vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 16.8%; and new energy vehicle sales increased even more sharply, reaching 0.454 million vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 254.5%.
This has greatly increased the confidence of Chery's chairman Yin Tongyue.
As early as last year, he set a flag for Chery, saying "In mid-2024, Chery will return to the top three in new energy vehicles, and by the end of the year, it will become the second in the new energy industry, and we will see the back of Wang Chuanfu (chairman of BYD)."
At that time, the industry did not pay too much attention to this ambitious statement. After all, in the auto industry, who doesn't have a few slogans. However, Chery proved with its sales this year that this is not just a slogan, but a real achievement.
In the first half of the year, Chery's total passenger vehicle sales were 1.057 million vehicles, second only to BYD, ranking second among domestic brands. Although new energy vehicles did not enter the top three, they are still ranked among them. Unlike in previous years, Chery only had micro-cars in the new energy sector.
In addition, Chery's proud overseas market is also growing steadily. Going abroad is also Chery's strong suit. In overseas markets, BYD still needs to catch up with Chery's sales.
Under this rapid development trend, Chery, which has been in business for 30 years, plans to once again launch an attack on the capital market. At the end of last year, there were rumors in the industry that Chery was planning to go public, with the earliest application for an IPO in 2024, and a possible valuation of 150 billion yuan.
In addition to these rumors, Yin Tongyue has also stated that Chery aims to complete its IPO before 2025.
Now, Chery's IPO dream journey has come to the final stage with one victory after another.
