FBM KLCI Ends Week On A High Note: Bursa Malaysia Closes 0.35% Up

Bursa Malaysia's benchmark index wrapped up a tumultuous week with a positive twist, as the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) climbed by 0.35% amidst a mix of bargain hunting and regional market optimism.

By 5pm, the FBM KLCI had risen 5.67 points to settle at 1,596.05, up from Thursday's close of 1,590.38. The index kicked off the trading session with a 10.78-point jump to 1,601.16, oscillating between 1,591.75 and 1,604.06 throughout the day.

In broader market activity, gainers outpaced decliners with a ratio of 1,103 to 218, while 357 counters remained unchanged. The day saw 764 counters left untraded and 22 others suspended.

Turnover for the day fell to 4.19 billion units, valued at RM2.93 billion, compared to Thursday's 4.31 billion units worth RM3.09 billion.
