Ringgit Strengthens As Market Anticipates Q2 GDP Data Release

The ringgit opened on a stronger note this morning, buoyed by resilient sentiment ahead of the upcoming release of Malaysia's second-quarter (Q2) 2024 GDP data, according to an analyst.

At 8am, the local currency gained 30 percentage points (pips), trading at 4.4170/4290 against the US dollar, compared to Friday's close of 4.4200/4280.
