Golden Kingdom Holdings (03918) announced that for the six months ending on June 30, 2024, the group will gain a proportional net profit/loss of 3.1 million to 6.9 million US dollars. For the six months ending on June 30, 2023, the group gained a profit of about 83 million US dollars.
According to the announcement, the expected profit for the first half of 2024 will decrease or even incur losses (depending on the situation) mainly due to the preliminary results of the independent valuation company commissioned by the group for the independent reassessment of the gambling and resort project located in Vladivostok, Russia (the board of directors also agreed). The expected devaluation of the Vladivostok project is about 85 million to 95 million US dollars. Relevant devaluations have not been obtained in past financial periods. This devaluation is due to the increase in the discount rate used to determine the present value of the project, as well as the expected decrease in business volume in the Vladivostok project.
