Icon Offshore's Damaged Vessel Fully Insured, Expects Full Restoration

Icon Offshore has given update on a fatal incident that occured on its vessel, where on 2 August 2024 at approximately 10:30 p.m. at the Sapar Alpha platform near Bintulu, involving the vessel Icon Amara which resulted in two fatalities and one serious injury.

The group said an investigation into the cause of the incident is currently underway, and it is fully cooperating with the relevant authorities. Icon assures that the vessel Icon Amara, along with its crew members are fully insured and it anticipates that the vessel will be restored to active duty following the completion of the investigation.

The delay for the release of the information it added was due to ensuring all information was accurate and appropriately handled before they were shared.

The Board says the incident is not expected to have a material impact on the its overall operations or financial performance.
