ITMAX System Berhad (ITMAX), a prominent provider of public space networked systems, has been awarded a substantial RM539 million contract by Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL). The contract involves deploying 5,000 closed-circuit cameras across the city to bolster the existing video surveillance infrastructure.

These cameras, equipped with advanced artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities, will provide real-time analytics, enhance security monitoring, and improve overall city management. The contract will be executed over 10 years, with a 1-year installation phase followed by a 9-year subscription phase.

William Tan Wei Lun, Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of ITMAX, stated, "This is a significant milestone for us as an AI-powered integrated digital infrastructure service provider. By extensively deploying our AI-enhanced video surveillance system throughout Kuala Lumpur, we aim to deliver real-time insights and analytics that will support the city council in optimizing urban management."

With this expansion, ITMAX's video surveillance system in Kuala Lumpur will now include 10,000 intelligent surveillance units, all interconnected through a fibre optic network. "This enhancement addresses the increasing challenges of urban complexity and security. We foresee a growing demand for comprehensive AI-driven surveillance solutions, which will significantly enhance public safety and elevate the overall quality of life in the city," Tan added.
