OCK Group Berhad (OCK), Malaysia's largest telecommunications network solutions provider and regional tower company, has announced that its subsidiary, EI Power Technologies Sdn Bhd, has been awarded three new contracts for data centre backup power solutions, with a total value of RM32.5 million.

These contracts involve the supply, delivery, installation, testing, and commissioning of underground storage tanks and fuel distribution systems, along with cabling works for the data centre backup power systems. The primary objective is to ensure a consistent fuel supply for backup generators during power disruptions, which is essential for maintaining uninterrupted operations at data centres during outages.

Datuk Wira Sam Ooi Chin Khoon, OCK Group's Managing Director, highlighted the strategic importance of these contracts. "Securing these contracts underscores OCK's capability to deliver a wide range of solutions. As part of our strategy to diversify and enhance our income streams, we are positioning ourselves for sustained growth and expanded opportunities. With the increasing number of new data centre projects, we anticipate a significant rise in demand for these services," he said.

Ooi Chin Khoon also noted that OCK plans to capitalise on its expertise in this sector and is actively tendering for additional fibre network connectivity projects for data centres.
