During the lunchtime, the Nikkei 225 futures fluctuated after rising in the range of 38080 yen to 38270 yen. The dollar/yen rate has been on a weak yen/strong dollar trend, with 1 dollar = 146.80-90 yen since around 9 a.m. The Asian market started with a slight rise in the Shanghai Composite Index and then fell by about 0.9% due to the soft tone, while the Hang Seng Index in Hong Kong turned down after the start of trading and fell by about 0.3%.

In terms of sectors, all industries are up, with precision instruments, pulp and paper, and land transportation among the top gainers. Among the highly-traded stocks on the Tokyo Stock Exchange Prime Market, Sakura <3778>, SHIFT <3697>, Sumitomo Forest <1911>, Mercari <4385>, TEPCO HD <9501>, Screen HD <7735>, Fast Retailing <9983>, Keyence <6861>, Renesas <6723>, and TOWA <6315> are on the rise, while Seven & i HD <3382>, Mitsui Fudosan <8031>, Hitachi <6501>, and Pan Pacific HD <7532> are down.

In terms of sectors, all industries are up, with precision instruments, pulp and paper, and land transportation among the top gainers.
