Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, said on Monday that humanoid robots will be deployed in future wars, but did not specify whether he envisions them replacing human soldiers or assisting them on the battlefield.
An X user asked if 'robotic soldiers' would become a reality in the future, to which Musk responded, 'Yes'. Unlike in the movies, the robots will not miss their targets.
Another user commented, 'Yes, 100% confirmed. In the near future, humanoid robots and many other types of killer robots will be manufactured and deployed.'
Musk responded with a simple 'Yes'.
Tesla's initial goal for the launch of the Optimus Prime humanoid robot was to handle unsafe, repetitive, or tedious tasks. However, in June, Musk stated that Optimus Prime could also be used as a companion, nanny for children, or for household chores in factories.
Earlier this month, Musk even stated that if robots were to participate in shooting competitions at the Olympics in the future, they would hit the bullseye every time.
Last week, Musk also stated that in the future, humans could upload their memories to the cloud and download them into a humanoid robot, one of the many benefits that the billionaire entrepreneur envisions for his company's Optimus Prime robot.
