Sem Hldgs (09929) announced that it is expected to achieve a net loss of approximately 9.1 million Hong Kong dollars for the six months ending June 30, 2024, compared to a net profit of approximately 4.5 million Hong Kong dollars for the six months ending June 30, 2023.
The board of directors believes that the above-mentioned change from profit to loss is mainly attributed to the decrease in gross margin for the six months ending June 30, 2024, compared to the six months ending June 30, 2023; and the continued downturn in the Hong Kong construction market.
