According to the latest automotive research report from TrendForce consultant, the global sales volume of new energy vehicles (including pure electric vehicles, plug-in hybrid electric vehicles, fuel cell vehicles) in the second quarter of this year reached 3.769 million units, with a quarterly growth of nearly 30% and a year-on-year growth of 24.2%.
TrendForce stated that the global sales volume of pure electric vehicles (BEVs) in the second quarter was 2.328 million units, with an annual increase of 8%. Although Tesla still has the highest market share in the pure electric vehicle market, its sales volume decreased by 4.7% compared to last year. BYD (01211) performed well in the pure electric vehicle market, ranking second with a growth of about 20% compared to the same period last year.
The global sales volume of plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) in the second quarter reached 1.439 million units, with an annual increase of 64.2%. The top four sales leaders are all Chinese brands. BYD's market share has increased to 36.1%, far ahead of second-place Li Auto (02015). Wanjie AITO and Chang'an rank third and fourth.
