According to reports, the iPhone 16 will be equipped with the A18 chip and will be enhanced by Apple Intelligence. It will introduce a new capture button similar to a shutter, and will be available for sale on September 20th. Apple will also release the Apple Watch Series 10 and update the entry-level and mid-range AirPods. Apple is currently testing four Mac models with the M4 chip.

It is a 'old tradition' for Apple to release new iPhone products in September every year, and the time for this heavyweight launch event this year may be set on September 10, which means that in just over two weeks, iPhone 16 will meet everyone.

Recently, more than one media outlet mentioned that Apple may hold its most important new product launch event of the year on September 10. As for why September 10, some media reports that Apple usually holds events on the second Tuesday of the first half of September, so September 10 this year is a relatively safe choice of date.

On Friday, August 23, Eastern Time, more media sources mentioned that Apple plans to hold a new product launch event on September 10, and it is expected that invitations to the media will be sent out next week. The media learned that at this event, in addition to the new generation of iPhones, Apple will also introduce new AirPods and Watch. Like previous years, after the event, the new iPhone will go on sale starting from September 20.

Regarding the new generation of iPhones, media reports suggest that overall, there won't be too much difference between the iPhone 16 and iPhone 15. Last month, Apple launched a personal artificial intelligence system called Apple Intelligence on the Pro models of iPhone 15, and iPhone 16 will also have this advanced artificial intelligence (AI) technology. In addition, the screen of the iPhone 16 Pro models will be larger, and it will have new camera features, such as a dedicated button for taking photos.

Compared to iPhone, the changes to Apple's smartwatches and headphones may be more significant. Media reports suggest that the Apple Watch Series 10 will be thinner than its predecessor but with a larger screen. Apple will update the mid-range AirPods product line, offering noise cancellation features for the first time on mid-range AirPods and updating the entry-level AirPods for the first time since 2019.

Wolai Street summarizes the news from other media about iPhone 16 configurations:

  • The iPhone 16 models will be equipped with a more powerful A18 chip to work with Apple Intelligence, and the entire iPhone 16 series will support the new iOS 18.
  • The display screens of the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max will be slightly larger, with sizes of 6.3 inches and 6.9 inches respectively.
  • The entire iPhone 16‌ series models will have an Action Button, which will be used for the first time in the basic model of the iPhone.
  • The entire iPhone 16‌ series models will feature a new Capture Button for photography, located below the power button on the right side. This button is similar to the shutter button on a digital camera. Lightly pressing the button can automatically focus, making the shot more precise. Pressing the button firmly can directly take photos. Users can zoom in or out by sliding the button left or right, and the button can switch between taking photos and recording.
  • The iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max will be equipped with a 48 million pixel ultra-wide-angle camera, a significant increase from the 12 million pixels of the iPhone 5.

Although there may not be new faces for Mac at the September conference, Apple is intensifying its development of Mac.

Media reports this Friday indicated that developers' test logs show that Apple is accelerating testing of four new Mac models to ensure their compatibility with third-party applications. These Macs will be equipped with the basic M4 chip set. Three models will have a 10-core CPU, while a lower-end version will have an 8-core CPU. Macs with the 10-core CPU will also have a 10-core GPU, while the lower-end Mac will have an 8-core GPU. They will all have either 16GB or 32GB of memory.
