The Nikkei Average is down 334 yen (as of 1:50 pm). In terms of contribution to the Nikkei Average, companies such as Tokyo Electron <8035>, Advantest <6857>, and TDK <6762> are among the top negative contributors, while companies such as Fast Retailing <9983>, Nitori Holdings <9843>, and Shin-Etsu Chemical <4063> are among the top positive contributors. In terms of sectors, transportation equipment, banking, rubber products, insurance, and pharmaceuticals are among the top decliners, while pulp and paper, air transportation, real estate, fisheries and forestry, and land transportation are among the top gainers.
The Nikkei Average is showing a strong support at lower levels despite facing resistance in its rebound. It seems that buying interest is likely to emerge if the Nikkei Average falls below 38,000 yen. On the other hand, there seems to be selling pressure due to concerns about a stronger yen and weaker dollar, following the trend in the morning session.
