①The Ministry of Finance and four other departments jointly issued a notice to improve the policy of duty-free shops in the city. ②OpenAI may launch the reasoning AI product 'Strawberry' as early as this fall. ③Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley have both lowered their international oil price expectations. ④The directors of the Federal Reserve Banks of Chicago and New York agreed to cut the discount rate at the July meeting.

Focus on hotspots:

1. Five departments jointly issued a notice to improve the policy of duty-free shops in the city. According to the policy, the existing 6 city duty-free shops will be subject to the 'Interim Measures for the Management of City Duty-Free Shops.' The existing 13 foreign exchange duty-free shops will be transformed into city duty-free shops within 3 months and will begin operations after passing the customs inspection. At the same time, 1 city duty-free shop will be established in 8 cities. If the related arrangements are successfully completed, the number of city duty-free shops in China will increase from the current 6 to 27.

2. As OpenAI raises more funds, its researchers are trying to launch a new artificial intelligence product, aiming to release an AI product codenamed 'Strawberry' as early as this fall, as part of a chatbot - possibly in ChatGPT. Researchers involved in this work say 'Strawberry' "can solve math problems it has never seen before, currently impossible for chatbots, and has been trained to solve programming-related problems.

3. Despite ongoing geopolitical risks in the Middle East, Wall Street has begun to feel disappointed about next year's crude oil outlook. As global oil supply increases, both Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley have recently lowered their oil price forecasts.

These two banks currently project that the average price of Brent crude oil worldwide will be below $80 per barrel in 2025. Goldman Sachs has revised its forecast for the average price of Brent crude oil in 2025 to $77 per barrel, while Morgan Stanley expects it to be between $75 and $78 per barrel. At the same time, both companies expect a surplus in the global crude oil market, with oil prices trending downwards over the next 12 months.

4. The minutes of the Federal Reserve discount rate meeting released on Tuesday showed that the board members overseeing the Federal Reserve Banks of Chicago and New York voted in favor of cutting the discount rate by 25 basis points in July. In last month's vote, 10 out of 12 regional Fed banks hoped to keep the discount rate at 5.5%, while the Federal Reserve Banks of Chicago and New York wanted to cut it to 5.25%. The Fed maintained the target range for the interest rate at 5.25%-5.5% at the July monetary policy meeting and kept the discount rate at 5.5%.
