Japanese authorities have warned that the typhoon may further intensify, blowing down some houses and causing flash floods and landslides. On Tuesday and Wednesday, the Japanese government issued evacuation warnings to nearly 1 million residents in various areas. Due to the very slow movement of this typhoon, it is expected to significantly increase the amount of rainfall in the affected areas within 24 hours, as well as the time for the destructive strong winds to hit the coast.

The Japan Meteorological Agency expects that within 24 hours until late Thursday, the rainfall in southern Kyushu may reach 600 millimeters, in northern Kyushu it may reach 400 millimeters, and in the East China Sea and Shikoku it may reach 300 millimeters.

Before the typhoon made landfall, the wind and rain had already caused disasters. As of Wednesday night, Kyushu Electrical Utilities Company stated that the number of households experiencing power outages in Kagoshima Prefecture had rapidly increased to 0.05 million.

Multiple companies have announced temporary shutdowns.

Facing the strong winds and heavy rainfall, Toyota Motor has announced that from Wednesday afternoon to Thursday morning, all 14 factories in Japan will halt operations completely. The decision on whether to resume production will be made on Thursday morning. This is the first complete shutdown since August of last year. Toyota stated that this decision was made considering the safety of employees and related personnel, as well as the potential component shortages due to the typhoon.

Honda Motor stated that the company's Kyushu factories will suspend production starting from Thursday, lasting until Friday morning. Mazda Motor will also halt production at its Hiroshima and Hofu factories starting Thursday evening.

Taiwan Semiconductor responded by mentioning that Japan Advanced Semiconductors, located in Kumamoto Prefecture, Kyushu, is taking preventive measures including establishing an 'Emergency Response Team' on standby.
