On August 29, Aeon Stores (00984.HK) announced that, for the six months ending June 30, 2024, it achieved revenue of 4.052 billion Hong Kong dollars, a 10.4% decrease year-on-year; the loss attributable to controlling shareholders was 0.171 billion Hong Kong dollars, compared to a loss attributable to controlling shareholders of 78.194 million Hong Kong dollars in the same period last year; basic loss per share was 65.84 Hong Kong cents.
During the review period, the group continuously increased the proportion of its own brands, launched more different products under TOPVALU, HóME CóORDY, and PEACE FIT WARM/COOL, expanded the range of products directly imported from Japan and Southeast Asia, held promotional events such as "Japan Food Festival", "South Korea Festival", "Thailand Food Festival", "Vietnam Product Exhibition", and "AEON Early Summer Life Support TOPVALU FAIR", allowing customers in Hong Kong to enjoy foreign flavors. The group also made targeted improvements to the product mix of supermarket business on "Wednesday Specials Day", increasing customer visits and consumption. Through these measures, the group successfully provided customers with more diverse products and services, while also improving sales performance and reducing procurement costs.
