Wynn Resorts Insiders Sell US$4.0m Of Stock, Possibly Signalling Caution

Simply Wall St ·  Aug 29 09:26

In the last year, many Wynn Resorts, Limited (NASDAQ:WYNN) insiders sold a substantial stake in the company which may have sparked shareholders' attention. When analyzing insider transactions, it is usually more valuable to know whether insiders are buying versus knowing if they are selling, as the latter sends an ambiguous message. However, if numerous insiders are selling, shareholders should investigate more.

Although we don't think shareholders should simply follow insider transactions, we do think it is perfectly logical to keep tabs on what insiders are doing.

Wynn Resorts Insider Transactions Over The Last Year

The CEO & Director, Craig Billings, made the biggest insider sale in the last 12 months. That single transaction was for US$1.2m worth of shares at a price of US$94.11 each. While insider selling is a negative, to us, it is more negative if the shares are sold at a lower price. The good news is that this large sale was at well above current price of US$75.30. So it may not shed much light on insider confidence at current levels.

In the last year Wynn Resorts insiders didn't buy any company stock. The chart below shows insider transactions (by companies and individuals) over the last year. If you click on the chart, you can see all the individual transactions, including the share price, individual, and the date!
