On August 29, Chinfmining (01258.HK) announced its interim performance. In the first half of 2024, the group's operating performance increased year-on-year due to the increase in sales of crude copper and anode copper compared to the same period last year, as well as the rise in international copper prices. In the first half of 2024, the group achieved revenue of 2.01 billion US dollars, a year-on-year growth of 9.0%. Among them, the revenue from sales of crude copper and anode copper was 1.362 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 22.5%; the net income was 0.303 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 14.9%; the net income attributable to shareholders of the company was 0.219 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 18.0%, with basic earnings per share of approximately 5.75 US cents.
From January to June 2024, the group accumulated a production of 159,971 tons of crude copper and anode copper, a year-on-year increase of 10.5%; a production of 62,450 tons of cathode copper, a year-on-year decrease of 12.8%; a production of 473 tons of cobalt hydroxide containing cobalt, a year-on-year decrease of 36.5%; a production of 548,699 tons of sulfuric acid, a year-on-year increase of 12.5%; a production of 10,115 tons of liquid sulfur dioxide, a year-on-year increase of 53.5%; and a processed copper products from external enterprises of 40,615 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 12.4%.
As of June 30, 2024, the group had bank balances and cash of 1.038 billion US dollars, an increase of 0.435 billion US dollars compared to December 31, 2023.
The company stated that in the second half of the year, under the leadership of the board of directors, the management team will continue to ensure stable production and profits, attach great importance to safety and environmental protection, compliance operation, and sustainable development, promote reforms to accelerate implementation, and ensure the completion of the annual production and operation targets, and achieve the overall goal of stable growth in 2024.
