During the Chengdu Auto Show, Xiaopeng's self-developed fifth-generation flying car product, the Traveler X2, made its appearance and performed a flight show.
It is reported that the Traveler X2 is a two-seater intelligent electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft. It has a closed cockpit and shares the design genes with Xiaopeng's P7, presenting a drop-shaped and clean appearance through the collision of minimalist elements. While having a futuristic appearance, it also considers high-efficiency aerodynamics to achieve ultimate aerodynamic performance during flight. It has multiple technologies such as automatic driving, radar ranging, and perception and avoidance, providing all-around safety assurance. Its length, width, and height are 5.17m, 5.12m, and 1.36m respectively. The arms of the aircraft can be folded, and the diameter of the propeller is about 1.83m. The entire aircraft adopts a full carbon fiber structure, with a follow-up flight endurance time of about 25 minutes. The empty weight of the aircraft is 680kg, the maximum load capacity is 160kg, the maximum design flight altitude is 1000 meters, and the maximum design flight speed is 130 kilometers per hour.
The X2 emits no carbon dioxide during flight, meeting the goal of green urban transportation. It can meet the short-distance travel needs within the city. Currently, the X2 is equipped with both manual driving and automatic driving modes. The automatic driving function allows the aircraft to fly automatically along the planned route based on the set flight altitude, speed, and time. During the automatic flight of the X2, passengers do not need to have professional driving skills and can have a safe and intelligent flying experience with simple operations such as one-key startup, one-key return, and one-key landing.
