KLCI Rebounds With 25-Point Gain As Regional Markets Drive Up Bursa Malaysia

Bursa Malaysia saw a significant rebound at the close on Friday, following a loss on August 29, with the benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) surging by 1.53 per cent. The index ended the day at 1,678.80, up 25.25 points from the previous day's closing figure of 1,653.55. It opened higher at 1,658.48 and experienced fluctuations throughout the session, ranging between 1,651.10 and 1,679.85.

Regional markets showed strong performance, contributing to the positive turn in Bursa Malaysia's index. The broader market also demonstrated strength, with 771 gainers outnumbering 421 decliners. There were 437 counters remaining unchanged, while 861 were untraded and 80 were suspended.

Market turnover saw an increase, rising to 3.95 billion units valued at RM6.22 billion, compared to 3.67 billion units valued at RM3.96 billion on Thursday.
