Smart Financial News APP, Cathay Pacific Airways (00293) announced that the company issued warrants to holders on August 12, 2020. On the date of this announcement (after the trading session), the company signed a repurchase agreement with the warrant holders to repurchase all warrants.
According to the repurchase agreement, the total cost of repurchasing all warrants equals the number of warrant shares multiplied by: (a) 3.48 Hong Kong dollars if the volume-weighted average price after signing is less than or equal to the reference price before signing; or (b) if the volume-weighted average price after signing is higher than the reference price before signing, the amount by which the reference price after signing exceeds the exercise price.
In other words, the total cost of repurchasing all warrants will not be less than 1.532 billion Hong Kong dollars, nor greater than 1.88 billion Hong Kong dollars.
The repurchase is unconditional and is expected to occur on the tenth business day after the date of the repurchase agreement. After the repurchase, the warrants will be cancelled.
