Avita, born with a golden key, is finally going to release a high-volume car.

On August 30th, at the Chengdu International Auto Show, Avita's third model, the Avita 07, made its official debut. This is a key move for Avita to target the mass market.

According to sources close to Avita, the price of the extended-range version of the car is expected to be just over 0.2 million yuan. Compared to the previous models, Avita 11 and 12, with prices above 0.3 million yuan, the launch of Avita 07 reveals its desire for greater scale and volume.

On this new SUV, Avita introduces many firsts - the first dual-power model with an extended range version, and the first Avita product to use a single lidar system.

Avita hopes to create a best-selling model with the 07, targeting popular models in the market. At the recent Avita extended-range launch event, Avita Vice President Hu Chengtai compared the various parameters of the 07 with the Ideal L6 and the Wenshie M7, the two best-selling extended-range SUV models in the market, with average monthly sales of about 0.02-0.03 million units.

Chongqing Changan Automobile Group Chairman Zhu Huarong has set a goal to make Avita 07 a high-volume product with a target of 0.15 million units. This means that the Ideal L6, Wenshie M7, and other models face a strong competitor.

Avita's choice of extended range is indeed timely.

According to CAAM data, in the first seven months of this year, there is a huge difference in the growth rate between pure electric and hybrid vehicles, which are 10.1% and 84.5% respectively. It is worth mentioning that extended range vehicles are more easily accepted by high-end users, currently accounting for 42% of high-end vehicles. Among the top 10 extended range vehicles sold last year, 6 had a price exceeding 0.2 million. This provides Avita with plenty of room for imagination.

As a brand jointly developed by Changan, Huawei, and Contemporary Amperex Technology, Avita has attracted industry attention since its inception. However, after producing two flagship models, the monthly sales volume is less than four thousand units. This has put pressure on the performance of its parent company, Chongqing Changan Automobile Group, making crossing the scale hurdle an internal priority.

Providing sufficiently advanced technology in the market above 0.2 million yuan is Avita's strategy to cope with market competition.

When designing the extended range route, Avita not only customized 3C and 4C charging rate batteries from Contemporary Amperex Technology, but also developed a dedicated generator, as well as a self-developed AI control system that connects the intelligent driving domain and the cabin domain.

In addition, for the Avita 07, it is equipped with the 'Taihang Intelligent Control Chassis' with self-developed software algorithm, and comes with multiple chassis intelligent control technologies.

Avita stated that the 07 is an advanced product of the cooperation among Changan, Huawei, and Contemporary Amperex Technology. It is equipped with Changan's Kunlun Intelligent Extended Range, Taihang Intelligent Control Chassis, Huawei's Qiankun ADS 3.0 Intelligent Driving, Hongmeng Intelligent Cabin, as well as Contemporary Amperex Technology's Shenhang 4C Supercharging Battery and Shenhang Super Hybrid Battery.

It is trying to create differentiation with high-end technology in order to win the favor of more high-end users, and also laying the groundwork for a full sales sprint in the future.

According to Avita, after the listing of 07, the existing Avita 11 and 12 will also launch extended range versions. In the next three years, there will be up to 7 models, including luxury sedans, 5/6-seat SUVs, supercars, and MPVs.

At the same time, Avita's channel expansion is also in full swing. CEO Chen Zhuo said, "In the second half of last year, we expanded about 120 Avita stores, and this year we will expand another 120. It is expected that there will be about 470-500 stores by the end of the year."

According to the plan, Avita's pure electric and extended range models of 07 will be officially launched in September. Through a series of transformations, Avita is also accelerating its scale sprint.
