It has been decided that "THE ROYAL EXPRESS ~SHIKOKU･SETOUCHI CRUISE TRAIN~", operated in cooperation by Shikoku Railway Company (hereinafter referred to as JR Shikoku), Japan Freight Railway Company (hereinafter referred to as JR Freight), West Japan Railway Company (hereinafter referred to as JR West), and Tokyu Corporation (hereinafter referred to as Tokyu), will be operated from January to March 2025.
In this second term, in addition to the plans operated last year, we have prepared a unique travel stage that can make you experience the charm of Shikoku and Setouchi, such as new areas and new accommodations such as Tokushima and Awaji Island, and plans in collaboration with cruise ship 'Ganze', and luxury bus 'Yui Prima'.

  As a new travel stage, we will charter the Awa Yoshinogawa Torocco of JR Shikoku and visit the scenic spot of Tokushima, 'Oboke and Koboke'. You can also enjoy a leisurely trip by staying at selected accommodations 'Retreat Aonagi by Onko Chishin' and 'Bettei Oboroyoye'. You can fully enjoy the nature, culture, and leisurely moments at the famous accommodations in Shikoku and Setouchi.

  We will bring you a new journey of THE ROYAL EXPRESS, featuring exquisite items nurtured by the nature of Awaji Island, new prestigious accommodations in Tokushima and Takamatsu, and the floating inn "Ganzu" in the Seto Inland Sea. In addition, the bus travel for this plan will be provided in the high-quality buses designed by Mr. Itooka Eiji, called "Yui Primavera" and "Yui Primavera OLIVIA".
  You can fully enjoy the one-of-a-kind travel stage of THE ROYAL EXPRESS, along with unique trains, ships, and buses such as "Ganzu", and "Yui Primavera", as you explore Shikoku and the Seto Inland Sea.

This project utilizes the electric locomotives of the THE ROYAL EXPRESS operated by Tokyu, as well as JR cargo and JR West Japan. JR West Japan operates the section between Okayama Station and Kojima Station, and JR Shikoku operates the section between Kojima Station and Shikoku Island. Additionally, Tokyu is responsible for the sales, planning, and operation of this plan, and JR Cargo is involved in the transportation and maintenance of the cruise train to Shikoku and the provision and maintenance of the electric locomotives. This collaboration involves multiple railway operators.
