On the afternoon of August 22, Didi released the 18th edition of the public evaluation "Should drivers comply with passengers' request for an extra segment?" in order to further optimize the user experience and service rules. By the end of August 31st, more than 0.13 million users participated in the discussion and voting, and the results showed that 65.8% of people supported the extra segment, while 34.2% voted against it.

Among the supporting opinions, the most voted option was "Anyone could have special circumstances and drivers should be more understanding", accounting for 32.1%. Among the opposing opinions, nearly half of the people believed that "Passengers should get off when they reach their destination", accounting for 16.7%. The voting users expressed their views from the perspectives of drivers and passengers. Some passengers shared their own experiences, hoping that drivers could be more understanding and provide assistance to passengers with mobility issues. Several drivers stated that they would comply with passenger requests in most cases. Overall, drivers are not opposed to providing an extra segment, but they also summarized three key points: first, they hope passengers have a polite and friendly attitude and discuss and express reasonable demands; second, it is convenient to pass through the residential area, and the distance for the extra segment should not exceed 100 meters; third, in extreme weather conditions or when carrying elderly people or passengers with children, they are willing to proactively provide an extra segment.

Didi suggests that if passengers need to have an extra segment during the trip, they can modify the destination in the app before the trip ends, and the driver will deliver according to the updated location. In the case of elderly passengers with mobility issues, extreme weather, or passengers who suddenly feel unwell, Didi hopes that drivers can be more understanding and willing to provide an extra segment. The platform also encourages passengers to express their gratitude to drivers through red envelopes and other methods.

In addition, many users have provided suggestions and improvement ideas to Didi: firstly, the platform should not use this behavior as a basis for evaluating drivers; secondly, services and fees should be more detailed, with differentiated pricing for different needs; thirdly, the navigation system should be improved, as users are often located within residential areas but drivers' navigation ends at the entrance of the community. In response to these issues, Didi stated that they will continue to optimize their products and navigation system, refine service standards, and pricing rules.
