Kawasaki Kisen Co., Ltd.
Kawasaki Kisen Co., Ltd. (hereafter, “our company”) will be exhibiting at the “22nd SMART ENERGY WEEK [Fall] 2024 ~ CCUS WORLD EXHIBITION ~” to be held from 10/2 to 10/4 this year.
Based on the “K” LINE Environmental Vision 2050 - Connecting the Blue Sea to Tomorrow” (Note 1), we are working on new business areas that contribute to social decarbonization support by utilizing our abundant experience and know-how cultivated in the shipping business. In the CCS field, we are participating in the Northern Lights Project (Note 2), which is the world's first full-scale CO2 capture and storage value chain business, and we plan to begin transporting liquefied CO2 to CCS this year. In addition, we are the only offshore shipping company to participate in a CO2 overseas storage project selected by the Energy, Metals and Mineral Resources Organization (JOGMEC) as an “advanced CCS business (Note 3)” in the 6th year of Reiwa, and we are proceeding with the study of a CCS business where CO2 emissions from Japan are press-loaded and stored off the coast of Malaysia.
At the CCUS WORLD exhibition, we plan to introduce our specific efforts in the CCS field through panels, videos, holograms of liquefied CO2 carriers, etc. Please be sure to stop by our booth. Also, a lecture on “Kawasaki Kisen's CCS Field Initiatives” is scheduled at the CCUS/Hydrogen Energy Utilization Seminar Hall in Hall 8 from 13:30 on 10/2 (Wed).
