Dongfeng Motor has brought its new energy vehicle (NEV) models to Hong Kong as it continues its international expansion efforts.

The auto giant recently launched the compact Dongfeng Box in Hong Kong and showcased other models including the Voyah Dream, Dongfeng 007, according to a statement yesterday.

The Dongfeng Box, known as Nammi 01 in the Chinese mainland, is the first model under Dongfeng's new brand Nammi.

The Nammi 01 was launched in the Chinese mainland on January 7 this year, and is currently available in six versions with a starting price range of RMB 75,800 ($10,510) to RMB 94,800 yuan.

In Hong Kong, Dongfeng has already opened Pop Up showrooms in Tsuen Wan and Wan Chai, and an associate showroom in Kowloon Bay is ready, according to the company.

Dongfeng plans to complete a 2,000-square-meter user center in Yuen Long by the end of this year, which will have functions including sales, delivery and after-sales, the company said.

In the January-August period this year, the auto group sold 197,664 passenger NEVs, up 22 percent year-on-year, according to a Hong Kong Stock Exchange announcement earlier this month.

In the international passenger car market, Dongfeng's premium NEV brand Voyah is expanding into Europe.

In May, Dongfeng said its premium electric off-road brand, M-Hero, would export its first model, the M-917, to the Middle East.
