今年は、患者さんの治療を行う上で課題となり、QOL向上に影響する「痛み」をテーマに設定しました。疼痛（とうつう）治療科の医師による講演や、痛みの軽減につながる各種製品を担当するアソシエイトのインタビュー映像を観ることで、医療現場がテルモに期待することを学ぶとともに、それに応えるべく尽力するアソシエイトの想いを分かち合いました。また、アソシエイト自身が体験した痛みについてのエピソードを社内で共有することにより、痛みへの共感・気づきを得て、テルモとしてこの課題解決のために何ができるのかということを考える機会となりました。
TopTerumo Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo, President: Mitsuru Samejima) held an internal event called "Terumo Patient's Day 2024" for all employees of the Terumo Group in Japan today.
This event, held in conjunction with the anniversary of the founding on September 17th each year, is a day for each associate (employee) to reflect on Terumo's corporate philosophy of "contributing to society through healthcare" and realize that their own work is connected to the medical field and patients. It is held with the cooperation of patients and healthcare professionals under a different theme each year.
This year, we set the theme as the "pain" that poses challenges and affects the improvement of quality of life (QOL) in patient treatment. Through lectures by doctors in the pain management department and interviews with associates responsible for various products that contribute to pain relief, we learned what the medical field expects from Terumo and shared the dedication of associates who strive to meet those expectations. Furthermore, by sharing personal experiences of pain within the company, we gained empathy and insights into pain, and had an opportunity to consider what Terumo can do to solve this issue.
The initiatives of Terumo Patient's Day have permeated throughout the entire group, both domestically and internationally, and various activities and events are held with different themes at each location.
Terumo will continue to challenge "the evolution of healthcare" and "the improvement of patient QOL" by creating solutions that are closely aligned with patients and the healthcare field.
