Lynk & Co, jointly owned by Geely Auto and Volvo Cars, is filing for a new model, the Z20, after launching its first battery electric vehicle (BEV) model in China just last week.

China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) today released its latest catalog of models that will be allowed to be sold for public comment, and the Lynk & Co Z20 is included.

The public can submit their feedback between September 14 and 23. Entry into the catalog is the last major regulatory process by which a model can be allowed to be sold in China.

The Lynk & Co Z20, which has only one page in the catalog, is a battery electric vehicle (BEV) model manufactured at a plant in Chengdu, Sichuan province.

Pictures of the model show it looking similar to Zeekr's (NYSE: ZK) Zeekr X SUV (sport utility vehicle).

Zeekr is another brand under the Geely Holding umbrella, and was officially launched in March 2021 as a separate company. Its first model, the Zeekr 001, was launched on April 15, 2021, and was a rebranding of the model previously known as the Lynk & Co Zero.

The Lynk & Co Z20 has a length, width and height of 4,460 mm, 1,845 mm and 1,573 mm, respectively, and a wheelbase of 2,755 mm.

For comparison, the Zeekr X, which was originally launched on April 12, 2023, has length, width and heights of 4,450 mm, 1,836 mm, 1,572 mm and a wheelbase of 2,750 mm.

The currently available 2025 Zeekr X went on sale on July 2 and is offered in two variants, both with a starting price of RMB 200,000 ($28,200).

The Lynk & Co Z20 weighs 1,899 kilograms and supports a top speed of 190 kilometers per hour.

The model in the regulatory catalog is powered by a single motor with a peak power of 250 kW. The Zeekr X is available with single and dual motor options.

Lynk & Co officially launched the Z10 mid-to-large-size sedan on September 5, its first BEV model, built on the same platform as the Zeekr 001.

The Lynk & Co Z10 is offered in five variants with starting prices of RMB 202,800, RMB 222,800, RMB 242,800, RMB 255,800 and RMB 299,800 respectively.

The company's second model is expected to be released in Europe in October, Lynk & Co management said on September 6 at a media briefing on the Z10.
