Recently, the 2024 Weibo Image Year #Light and All Things Theme Exhibition# opened grandly at Wangjing SOHO in Chaoyang District, Beijing, showcasing professional and infectious works, not only bringing a visual feast to the audience but also touching the soul. The exhibition site was crowded and lively, attracting numerous photography enthusiasts and becoming a popular choice for urban white-collar workers around Wangjing. During the event, "visiting the exhibition after tea and dinner" has become a new normal for the surrounding crowd's lives.

Eight major units record "Big City Little Things," with a crowded atmosphere at the scene.

The big city is the beauty of modern China. It is the charming abstract structure of architecture, the miraculous line patterns, and the geometric relationships of intersecting spaces, reflecting each other to form the song of the city. The little things, on the other hand, are you and me. It's the trivial matters of life, the wild growth covered in dust, the struggle for survival rooted in the vast big city. This exhibition vividly presents the juxtaposition and blending of the big city and the little things through exquisite works, showcasing the resilience and beauty of individual life against the backdrop of grand narratives.

The first picture at the entrance of the exhibition is "Ink Clouds Over Beijing," where clouds and mists roll in from the horizon, surging over the buildings, as if to recreate the scene of Qianli Jiangshan from Wang Ximeng's painting. In order to capture this amazing sight of clouds and mists, the photographer scaled multiple high mountains 15 times, endured the damp and cold air after the rain overnight, endured countless hardships, and finally captured the Ink Clouds. The audience on-site highly praised this masterpiece, taking photos with the work one after another.

According to the on-site information, this film exhibition is divided into eight major sections: "Music Solidification", "A Hundred Possibilities", "Living Up to Youth", "Evening Glow of Lanterns", "Skyline", "Against the Odds", "Blues Moment", and "Life is Like a Song", telling the story of "big things in a big city" from different perspectives, showcasing a colorful urban life panorama.

Some works present the city at night: as night falls, a bright moon shines through sparse branches, quietly hanging above the high-rise buildings, adding a touch of poetry to the city; some capture the seaside buildings: the afterglow of the setting sun sprinkles on the sea, the golden light reflects the distant buildings, narrating the prosperity and tranquility of the city; while others document high-altitude cleaners: on the mirror-like surface of the building, a row of high-altitude cleaners are wiping the glass, with the building's surface reflecting the distant building shadows, as if crossing time and space...

These ingeniously conceived and visually stunning works have attracted a large number of people from the surrounding areas to come and enjoy the scene, with many audiences making special trips from afar. People at the scene either stop to watch, take photos for memory, or communicate feelings with others, creating a lively atmosphere.

"Many of the photos are very well conceived, as if telling individual city stories. I work nearby, so whenever I have free time, I come here to broaden my horizons," said Xiao Zhang, who works in copywriting and planning.
