As of the closing time 30 days ago, the Nikkei average constituent stocks had 17 stocks rising, 208 stocks falling, and 0 stocks unchanged.

The Nikkei average experienced a significant decline. It closed the morning session at 37980.34 yen, down 1849.22 yen (with an approximate volume of 1.1 billion 70.18 million shares traded). The Dow Jones Industrial Average in the U.S. market last Friday, the 27th, closed 137.89 points higher at 42,313.00, while the Nasdaq closed at 18,119.59, down 70.70 points. The continuation of inflation stagnation shown by the August PCE Price Index supported a significant increase due to expectations of a significant easing pace. The Michigan Consumer Sentiment Index exceeded expectations, resulting in higher levels for the Dow. Towards the end, concerns about the deteriorating situation in the Middle East caused a slowdown, despite updating record highs. The drop in Nvidia (NVDA) in the semiconductor industry affected the Nasdaq, leading to a decline and a mixed market closure. While the U.S. market closed mixed last weekend, the Nikkei average started with a significant drop, aligning with Chicago futures. Positions had been building up based on expectations of Mr. Takamichi's victory in the LDP leadership election last week, but with Mr. Ishiba overtaking, these were quickly unwound, leading to a sizeable decline that was likely within expectations. Mr. Ishiba had shown a positive stance towards strengthening taxation on financial income and corporate taxes, causing a high level of market vigilance. In the short term, attention is likely to focus on the policies of the Ishiba future administration and the direction of the dissolution of the Lower House and the general election, making it a development to determine a stable point for now.

The top contributors to the decline were Toyo Electronics <8035> ranking first, followed by Fast Retailing <9983>, collectively pushing the Nikkei average down by approximately 341 yen. Additionally, Mitsukoshi Isetan <3099> ranked top in the decline rate among Nikkei average constituent stocks, down 11.06%, followed by Lasertec <6920> down 10.20%.

On the other hand, the top contributors to the rise were Nitori Holdings <9843> ranking first, followed by Chiba Bank <8331>, lifting the Nikkei average by about 7 yen with these two stocks. Additionally, Resona Holdings <8308> topped the rise in percentage among Nikkei average constituent stocks, up 6.37%, followed by DeNA <2432> up 5.42%.
