Japanese auto manufacturers are preparing to deal with the possible impact of the strike at ports on the east coast of the USA.

Global market report ·  Oct 2 03:59

Japanese auto manufacturers are closely monitoring the possible far-reaching impact of the strike at ports along the Atlantic and Gulf Coasts of the USA.

Mazda Corporation stated on Wednesday that the ports in Baltimore, Maryland, and Jacksonville, Florida are key gateways for timely vehicle delivery, hoping for a swift resolution to the strike. While negotiations are ongoing, Mazda will rely on its dealers' inventory in the USA.

Honda has stated that they have made preparations in advance to unload cargo before the strike.

Toyota has indicated that they will continue to monitor the situation and have declined to provide further comments.

Nissan has stated that they have not received any news regarding the impact of the strike.

For the first time in nearly 50 years, ports on the East Coast of the USA have been shut down as unions representing workers at each major port on the East Coast have gone on strike after their contracts expired.
