Osaka Gas Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as 'Osaka Gas') and Ubie Co., Ltd., a startup company in the health tech field that deals with businesses using medical technology and AI technology for questionnaire engines and platforms, has begun a collaboration aiming to develop and provide innovative services in the health tech sector.
In addition, Daigas Energy Co., Ltd., a 100% subsidiary of Osaka Gas (hereinafter referred to as 'Daigas Energy'), will introduce Ubie Co., Ltd.'s existing medical institution service 'Yubi Medical Navi' starting from October 2024.
Ubie Co., Ltd. independently built a questionnaire engine*1 born from Japan's advanced medical technology and a platform centered around this core technology, providing services for consumers, medical institutions, and pharmaceutical companies.
For consumers, Ubie offers a symptom search engine called 'Yubi,' where users can get answers about related illnesses, treatments, and nearby medical facilities by answering about 20 questions about symptoms, provided free of charge, with a monthly user base exceeding 12 million people.
Furthermore, for medical institutions, Ubie provides 'Yubi Medical Navi' to support AI questionnaires in hospitals, as well as efficiency improvements in medical institution consultations, reception tasks, and enhancing awareness, offered on a paid basis.
Osaka Gas agrees with Ubie's motto of 'guiding people to appropriate medical care with technology' and in 2024, entered into a capital alliance with Ubie to develop and provide innovative services in the health tech field. Subsequently, both companies have been discussing specific collaboration details.
As the first step of this collaboration, Daigas Energy will introduce 'Yubi Medical Navi' to its medical institution customers starting in October 2024.
Furthermore, Osaka Gas and Ubie are jointly developing a new service using digital technology to visualize and improve individuals' health conditions with the aim of achieving 'Effortless Well-being' that fulfills both physical and mental needs. They are aiming to start offering this service from the fiscal year 2025 onwards.
Osaka Gas and Ubie will continue to advance business collaboration in the health tech sector to be of service to people's lives and businesses.

Osaka Gas Co., Ltd. (Representative Director and President: Masataka Fujiwara, Headquarter: Chuo-ku, Osaka City) will implement a grid-scale rechargeable battery project along with Mizuho Leasing Co., Ltd. (Representative Director and President: Akira Nakamura, Headquarter: Minato-ku, Tokyo), JFE Engineering Corporation (Representative Director and President: Kazumi Fukuda, Headquarter: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo), and Kyushu Steel Corporation (Representative Director and President: Kunio Kiyomoto, Headquarter: Kasuya County, Fukuoka Prefecture). In the future, the four companies will invest in Takeo Energy Storage LLC to aim for the operation start of the grid-scale energy storage facility (hereinafter referred to as the “Takeo E.S.F”) by the middle of fiscal 2025. It should be noted that Osaka Gas’s participation in the grid-scale rechargeable battery industry is its second, following its involvement in the Chisato E.S.F. project.
