What Does The Institutional Ownership Tell Us About Canggang Railway?
Many institutions measure their performance against an index that approximates the local market. So they usually pay more attention to companies that are included in major indices.
Since institutions own only a small portion of Canggang Railway, many may not have spent much time considering the stock. But it's clear that some have; and they liked it enough to buy in. So if the company itself can improve over time, we may well see more institutional buyers in the future. When multiple institutional investors want to buy shares, we often see a rising share price. The past revenue trajectory (shown below) can be an indication of future growth, but there are no guarantees.
Hedge funds don't have many shares in Canggang Railway. Because actions speak louder than words, we consider it a good sign when insiders own a significant stake in a company. In Canggang Railway's case, its Top Key Executive, Yongliang Liu, is the largest shareholder, holding 67% of shares outstanding. China Life AMP Asset Management Company Limited is the second largest shareholder owning 2.8% of common stock, and Weiming Yi holds about 1.8% of the company stock. Interestingly, the third-largest shareholder, Weiming Yi is also a Member of the Board of Directors, again, indicating strong insider ownership amongst the company's top shareholders.
While it makes sense to study institutional ownership data for a company, it also makes sense to study analyst sentiments to know which way the wind is blowing. As far as we can tell there isn't analyst coverage of the company, so it is probably flying under the radar.
