"Star Daily" October 8th news (Reporter: Huang Xinyi) HarmonyOS NEXT, known as the "pure-blooded Hongmeng," has started public testing. The first batch of test models include Huawei Mate 60 series, Mate X5 series, and MatePad Pro 13.2 series.

So far, mainstream applications such as Xiaohongshu, Railways 12306, jd.com, Weibo, and DingTalk have announced the completion of the development of the native Hongmeng application version. With Huawei's HarmonyOS NEXT starting public testing today, the Hongmeng versions of Weibo, WPS, DingTalk, etc., are also synchronously starting public testing.

The highly anticipated WeChat Hongmeng version, which has not seen progress, also began inviting internal testing today. Users who have upgraded to HarmonyOS NEXT can experience it first after receiving the invitation.

It is reported that the native version of WeChat Hongmeng includes basic social communication, audio and video calls, friend circle, and WeChat payment's QR code payment/receipt functions. The WeChat team stated that the various functions of the native version of WeChat Hongmeng are continuously adapting and will be gradually updated and improved in subsequent versions.

"Star Daily" reporters noticed that many applications are still not adapted to Hongmeng. Netease's games such as "Egg Party" and "Eternal World" have not completed all debugging work for the Hongmeng system, reminding players to upgrade with caution.

An analyst in the consumer electronics industry told the "Star Daily" reporter that the launch of the Huawei Mate 70 series is expected to be a key milestone. "There's still over a month left, and by then, apps like WeChat should be usable."

Half of the internet's landscape has officially announced its integration with Hongmeng.

At the Hongmeng Qianfan Battle Flagship Ceremony held at Huawei's Bantian Base at the end of September, major players in the domestic internet industry such as Baidu, Bilibili, DingTalk, East Money Information, jd.com, beijing kingsoft office software, inc, Kuaishou, Meituan, Alipay, Shenzhen Openhong, Tencent, Netease, weibo, etc., gathered together.

WeChat's Hongmeng version started inviting internal testing today. Tencent's PR Director, Zhang Jun, stated that the WeChat Hongmeng version will randomly push internal testing invitations to some users. If you do not receive the push, please wait patiently as it will later land in the 'Early Access' section.

In addition to WeChat starting internal testing, Tencent's games such as 'Honor of Kings' and 'Peacekeeper Elite' have started limited time, deleted file tests for the HarmonyOS NEXT version.

Xiaohongshu has completed the full-scale development of Hongmeng native applications, adding support for HarmonyOS features such as system-level minor mode, direct scan, service interconnection, AI image cutout, consistent photography, HDR Vivid, and Moving Photo.

DingTalk's Hongmeng native version has already been listed on the HarmonyOS NEXT application market and after Huawei's native HarmonyOS public beta started on October 8, the public beta was fully launched.

▍Some apps are still not fully adapted.

As of now, the number of HarmonyOS ecosystem devices has exceeded 0.9 billion units, with over 0.01 million applications and meta-services available on the HarmonyOS NEXT application market, and the number of registered developers in Huawei Developer Alliance has also grown to 6.75 million.

However, many apps are still unable to complete adaptation. Prior to this public beta, Netease's 'Egg Party' announced that the mobile game has not yet completed all debugging work for the HarmonyOS system, and the development team will soon complete the debugging integration. The official of Netease's 'Endless Hegemony' game also sent emails to players, stating that they have not completed all the debugging work for the HarmonyOS system. After updating to HarmonyOS NEXT system, players will temporarily be unable to continue playing the 'Endless Hegemony' game, reminding players to update with caution.

In addition, on October 7, Ford Motor also sent a notification to users, stating that the Ford Pass App can currently only ensure support for smartphones running the IOS and Android systems. Smartphones running other systems may not be able to use the Ford Pass App and its related functions properly. If the smartphone runs on IOS or Android systems, users are advised not to upgrade to other systems. If a version compatible with other systems or adjustments to the smartphone systems that the App can adapt to are developed in the future, it will be announced and informed through official channels such as the official website.

An analyst in the consumer electronics industry told the "Star Market Daily" reporter that the HarmonyOS ecosystem still needs to be built step by step, and it is expected that the launch of Mate70 will be a key milestone. ▍OpenHarmony Completes Version Update to Accelerate Alignment with Native HarmonyOS

After the release of OpenHarmony 5.0 Beta1 version in June, Huawei officially released the OpenHarmony 5.0.0 Release version, promoting alignment between OpenHarmony versions and HarmonyOS. Improvements have been made in user experience, data security, audio-visual entertainment, making it easier for developers to develop more efficiently.

Zhongtai Technology stated, "HarmonyOS = OpenHarmony + HMS. Huawei opens up the HMS interface externally, most of the services provided by HMS are free, while some services have a free quota per cycle. OpenHarmony 5.0 version aligns with HarmonyOS, opens up the ecosystem, which is a significant bullish factor for ecosystem partners."

Several listed companies have participated in the building of the HarmonyOS ecosystem. Zhongtai Technology believes that as the Harmony native application ecosystem matures, the commercialization of HarmonyOS on a large scale in 2024 is imminent. This is expected to drive a large number of application software vendors to adapt, migrate, and develop, benefiting the Harmony industry chain symbol, and recommends focusing on industry chain operating system partners, application partners, hardware integration partners.

Huaxin Securities stated that over 0.01 million apps and meta-services, which occupy 99.9% of consumer usage time, have been listed on the Harmony App Market.
