On the news front, according to Lighthouse Professional Edition data, as of 6:09 pm on October 7th, the total box office of the National Day holiday movies has exceeded 2 billion yuan, reaching 2.05 billion yuan. As of October 7th, the total box office for 2024 movies has reached 36.854 billion yuan. It is worth noting that the total box office in 2023 was 54.953 billion yuan.

Western Securities pointed out that during the National Day holiday, many places in China have introduced movie viewing subsidies and distributed movie consumption vouchers. Against this background, during the first six days of the National Day holiday, the national average daily box office revenue was 0.325 billion yuan, a decrease of 4.9% compared to the same period last year, only about half of the level in the same period in 2019. In addition, the average ticket price during the National Day holiday showed a downward trend daily, with an average price of 40.4 yuan in the first six days, a 3.8% decrease from the same period last year. Due to the current film market still being in the process of reducing inventory, insufficient supply of high-quality content is a key factor hindering movie consumption.
