After the short-selling institution Hindenburg announced its short sell on the online game platform Roblox, the company's stock price plunged nearly 9.4% during trading on Tuesday, hitting a new low since early August. As of the close on Monday, it has dropped nearly 9.5% for the year.
In its report, Hindenburg pointed out that Roblox exaggerated key data and lacked sufficient security measures to prevent pedophiles from using the platform.
A Roblox spokesperson responded:
"We categorically deny the allegations in the report. Undeniably, the report's authors are short sellers (regardless of Roblox's business model and performance, they have their own agenda)."
Roblox's cash revenue growth has exceeded 22% in the past four quarters, reaching $0.9552 billion, generating $0.576 billion in free cash flow during the same period. The company spokesperson emphasizes that these data are indicators consistently highlighted by Roblox to investors and firmly believes Roblox is a safe platform.

The website's operator, Edwin Dorsey, published a negative report about the platform back in 2022, expressing some concerns about Roblox. However, Dorsey mentioned that he writes these reports not because he intends to short sell the company's stocks himself.
