The market closed higher on Tuesday, with the Nasdaq Composite Index leading the way. Oil prices moderated and market watchers kept their eyes on the impending Hurricane Milton.
Just after today's final bell, the $S&P 500 Index (.SPX.US)$ closed +0.95%, the $Dow Jones Industrial Average (.DJI.US)$ climbed 0.28%, and the $Nasdaq Composite Index (.IXIC.US)$ stole the show, up 1.45%.
$NVIDIA (NVDA.US)$ stock rose more than 3% in afternoon trading on Tuesday, putting shares on pace for their fifth straight day of gains. This week, Wall Street analysts at several investment firms reiterated their Buy ratings on the stock.
Looking ahead to the second half of the week, the Federal Reserve will release minutes from its September meeting on Wednesday. Investors may dig for nuggets about what's next for cuts while Thursday will offer additional inflation insights with the release of September consumer-price inflation data.
And it's a new week, a new hurricane. Hurricane Milton may impact Florida in the upcoming days. While Milton weakened a little Tuesday, Tampa is bracing for a Wednesday hit.
