A spokesperson for CVS Health said on Friday that the company is closing its core intravenous infusion services business and plans to close or sell 29 related regional pharmacies in the coming months.
Shelly Bandit, Senior Manager of the company's Communications Department, said that the company stopped accepting new patients seeking antibiotics, muscle health support drugs, and intravenous nutrition services on October 8.
Bandit added, "Infusion drug suppliers have always faced a challenging environment in providing the most professional and sophisticated services, and Coram has not been spared."
She said the company has not announced layoffs, and affected employees will receive notice in mid-November and leave in January.
"We plan to close 29 regional pharmacies in the coming months, but at the same time, we are also exploring the possibility of selling these assets," she said.
