贝克休斯:美国钻井商四周来首次增加油气钻井

Baker Hughes: Oil & gas drilling by US drillers sees first increase in four weeks.

Global market broadcast ·  Oct 11 13:31

Energy services company Baker Hughes (BKR.O) reported on Friday that US energy companies increased oil & gas drilling for the first time in four weeks this week.

As an early indicator of future production, the number of oil & gas drilling rigs increased by one in the week ending October 11, reaching 586.

Baker Hughes stated that compared to the same period last year, the total number of rigs still decreased by 36, a decrease of 6%.

This week, the number of oil drilling platforms increased by two, reaching 481. The number of natural gas drilling platforms decreased by one, to 101.

Meanwhile, drillers in Pennsylvania reduced two rigs, bringing the state's total rigs down to 13, the lowest since July 2016.

Due to the decline in oil and natural gas prices, soaring inflation causing labor and equipment costs to rise, and the company's focus on debt repayment and increasing shareholder returns rather than increasing production, the number of oil & gas drilling rigs in 2023 decreased by about 20%. The number of rigs increased by 33% in 2022 and 67% in 2021.
