A wave of revelry

On Monday, the A-share market saw a V-shaped reversal, with a strong surge in the Huawei Hongmong concept in the afternoon, causing a frenzy of trading halts.

By the close, Shijiazhuang Changshan Beiming Technology has had 18 consecutive days of limit-up trading, with over ten stocks like Yusys Technologies, Jiangsu Hoperun Software, Client Service International, Inc., Huawei Smartech, Talkweb Information System, Beijing Oriental Jicheng also hitting the daily trading limit.

From mid-September to the first day after National Day, the Huawei Hongmong concept launched a rapid offensive, with a cumulative increase of over 54%; however, after October 8th, the concept experienced continuous corrections, until today it once again regained its momentum and saw a big rebound.

Hongmong in full swing

Recently, the third OpenHarmony Developer Conference was held, and the open-source OpenHarmony 5.0 Release version was formally pre-released.

This is another milestone version following the OpenHarmony 3.2 Release version.

In addition, 32 OpenHarmony technology clubs made their debut, and the first batch of 30 OpenHarmony developer associations were launched.

Huawei's Chief Scientist, Chen Haibo, stated that from technical architecture to development capabilities and ecosystem completeness, OpenHarmony's momentum has been established.

At the meeting, Gong Ti, President of Huawei's Terminal BG Software Department, pointed out that after a year of preparation, HarmonyOS NEXT is now at the verge of unveiling.

He stated that the number of Hongmeng ecological devices has exceeded 900 million, but 900 million is just the beginning. Facing the era of intelligent interconnection of all things, it is believed that in the near future, the number of devices built based on open-source Hongmeng will reach billions or even trillions.

Recently, the Tencent WeChat Hongmeng native version has been officially launched on the Huawei AppGallery. It is reported that this version supports chat record migration and functions such as direct access to the system's original camera and native Hongmeng security.

Huawei also announced the HarmonyOS native application developers incentive plan. Among them, individual developers can receive a cumulative maximum reward of 0.1 million yuan, and individual enterprise developers or service providers can receive a cumulative maximum reward of 1 million yuan in cash.

Of note, on October 8th, HarmonyOS NEXT began public beta testing, with the first batch of beta test models including the Huawei Mate 60 series, Huawei Mate X5 series, and Huawei MatePad Pro 13.2-inch series.

As Huawei's self-developed operating system, HarmonyOS NEXT abandons the Linux kernel and the Android Open Source Project (AOSP), deeply integrating AI capabilities on the basis of achieving autonomy and controllability, further enhancing security.

In addition, according to market sources, Huawei hongmong commercial system is set to be released this month. The Huawei Mate 70 series phones have already been mass-produced and are scheduled to be launched in November.

Additionally, a new 16GB+256GB version of the Huawei Mate60 Pro+ has been produced and will soon be available for sale.

Commercial 'last mile'

At present, the commercial use of the "pure" Hongmeng system seems to have entered the final "sprint" stage.

Research institution Counterpoint data shows that in the first quarter of this year, Hongmeng surpassed Apple's iOS for the first time with a 17% market share, becoming the second largest operating system in the Chinese smart phone market.

As of now, Huawei's Hongmeng has become the third largest mobile operating system in the world.

Currently, many domestic internet giants, including Tencent, Alibaba, JD.com, Baidu, Weibo, and Meituan, have all joined the development of the Hongmeng ecosystem, which has already taken over half of the country's internet industry.

Minsheng Securities pointed out that the HarmonyOS NEXT has started public testing, marking a new step for China's independent and controllable operating system and application ecosystem, with pure Huawei HongMeng set to build a domestic system ecosystem.

In the future, with more applications and functions being adapted and improved, HarmonyOS systems are expected to bring users a smoother and more secure user experience, benefiting significantly the Harmony smartphones, PCs, and other industry chain.

In the capital markets, both the HongMeng concept and the Huawei concept are experiencing a wave of excitement.

China Merchants Securities stated a firm bullish outlook on the continuous prosperity of the HarmonyOS ecosystem, possibly ushering in a new decade of significant growth in the future of end terminals.

Zhongtai Securities indicated that the native application ecosystem of HarmonyOS is maturing, with the commercialization of HarmonyOS on a large scale expected in 2024, potentially driving a large number of application software vendors to adapt, migrate, and develop, benefiting the HarmonyOS industry chain companies.
