On October 16, 2024, at the 2024 Lenovo Innovation and Technology Conference, Lenovo Group and FIFA announced that they had reached a cooperation, and Lenovo Group became FIFA's official technical partner — this is FIFA's highest level of sponsorship. The cooperation agreement covers the 2026 FIFA World Cup to be hosted in Canada, Mexico, and the United States, as well as the 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup to be held in Brazil.

These two events will provide the Lenovo Group with an excellent platform to further enhance its brand image among fans of the world's most popular sports. More importantly, Lenovo Group will also make soccer more attractive and more popular through integrated innovative technology.

Lenovo Group's products, services and solutions, including a range of the latest AI innovation product portfolios, iconic ThinkPad laptops, tablets, Motorola phones and servers, will all be applied to the 2026 and 2027 World Cup events. These technologies will comprehensively enhance the stadium fans' experience and global broadcast effectiveness, enhance game analysis, and achieve data inclusion in participating countries around the world.

Yang Yuanqing, Chairman and CEO of Lenovo Group, said, “As one of the world's leading technology companies, we are delighted to partner with the most global and popular sports in the world. The Lenovo Group will support the largest sports and entertainment events in human history — events that will have more audiences, participating countries, and unprecedented global data processing and technology requirements.

“The Lenovo Group is proud to support FIFA's vision of improving the game level through technology, enhancing the global fan experience, and accelerating innovation to promote fair competition. We are delighted that Lenovo's cutting-edge technology and artificial intelligence innovations will shine at the upcoming event, showcasing the transformative power of intelligent technology to the world.”

FIFA President Gianni Infantino (Gianni Infantino) said: “FIFA is committed to promoting the development of soccer on a global scale so that everyone can participate in soccer. We are delighted that Lenovo Group has joined the ranks of partners and is working with us to implement technology, innovation, and future plans to promote this sport. The combination of data and technology will help us better understand our fans, and we'll use these technologies to create an unrivaled fan experience at the 2026 FIFA World Cup and 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup.

“We have a partner like Lenovo, which will support us to continue to grow and innovate in the future by investing in digital technology and artificial intelligence to drive the future.”

This landmark collaboration marks the first collaboration between Lenovo Group and FIFA, and continues Lenovo's tradition and advantage in providing technical support for many of the world's top sporting events.
